About
One walker, one city, and a company that exists to publish the notes
Whatever a reader might want to verify about the people behind these pages is set out below, in one place, without a form standing in front of it.
The publication
Keystyle Travels is a field book about single blocks in Houston, a city of well over two million people that has never adopted zoning. It began in 2023 and comes out when a record is finished rather than on a schedule.
The walking and the writing are both done by Odalys Prieto. There is no payroll, no wire feed and no second contributor. When a reader's note produces a record, that reader is credited inside it.
Volume 4 is the current run. Earlier volumes were paper, printed in batches of forty for people who asked.
The name
Keystyle is the name this field book was registered under and the address it publishes at. Other companies exist whose names share a word with it, in trades that have nothing to do with recording city blocks. None of them has any connection to this publication, and none of them is named anywhere on this site, because printing somebody else's name in order to disown it is still printing somebody else's name.
What this publication will not do
- No ratings, rankings, scores or stars. Ground gets described. Nothing gets judged out of five.
- No reviews of businesses. A shop appears in a record because of where it stands, not because of what it sells.
- No sponsored records. A block has never been recorded because somebody asked, and no mention, link or photograph has been paid for.
- No selling. No shop, no booking, no ticket, no membership and no price on any page. The one arrangement that earns anything is the look up, described on its own page.
- No affiliation with any public body. None is held and none should be inferred from any page here.
- No prescriptions. These are notes on how a city looks, not an argument about how it should be governed.
The photographs
Made for this field book, and about four things: ground, structures, drainage and weather. Nothing is bought in and nothing is drawn. A frame shows the sort of ground a record deals with rather than posing as one particular address, and the independence page spells that out.

No Texas file number appears above, and the omission is on purpose. The state hands those numbers out in a single unbroken sequence, which means every convincing looking number is already somebody's, and quoting one here would amount to wearing another company's registration.
This web address predates the first issue by four years, having been bought from a previous owner. No page here dates the publication from the registration of the address, and the year above is the year the walking started.
